Flat spots? Simple tips to avoid flat spots on your tyres

Flat spots are mostly caused by long term storage of the vehicle. If a car stands for a long time, the contact patch of the tyre can flatten slightly where it is in contact with the ground area.

There are two types of flat spots

Temporary Flat spots occurs if the vehicle has been parked for few days or weeks similar to situations like you have been away for a vacation or parked the vehicle at airport. And you may notice some slight vibrations during the initial riding hours of your journey. These kind of flat spots will disappear when the tyres have reached their operational temperature and regained their original shape.

Semi-Permanent flat spots occurs when the vehicle is stored for a longer duration as such a month or longer.

Especially in GCC, the long duration storage can produce semi-permanent flat spots due to high temperatures which won’t disappear even after long riding hours.
