Compared to Oxygen, in Nitrogen inflated tyres the rise in temperature remains moderate. Nitrogen is more stable in tyres as its molecule us bigger than oxygen hence it leads to lesser seepage through rubber. Nitrogen does not react with the metal wheel rim or the rubber of the tyre whereas, oxygen might react with the moisture present in the tyre and cause oxidation leading to rust formation in the components.
